INTRODUCTION:

As a leading maintenance and fire safety solutions provider, Harmony secured a prestigious 3-year planned preventative maintenance contract with Exeter City Council (ECC). This contract entails the comprehensive maintenance of fire and smoke alarms, sprinkler systems, and other critical fire safety and stopping systems across various ECC-owned properties.

SOLUTION:

Harmony’s solution encompasses a dedicated approach to maintenance, ensuring the highest safety and compliance standards. Weekly sprinkler tests are conducted on all sprinkler systems, coupled with routine maintenance and swift response to emergency callouts for all elements covered under the contract. The scope of work spans ECC’s diverse portfolio, including corporate buildings, multi-storey car parks, theatres, shops, and public amenities like toilets.

Moreover, Harmony undertakes all necessary remedial works, focusing on specialised projects involving listed buildings. Collaboration with English Heritage guarantees adherence to building compliance while preserving the architectural integrity of historically significant structures. Given many Exeter City Council properties’ considerable historical and asset value, Harmony’s expertise was indispensable in maintaining these assets to the highest standards.

The enduring partnership between Harmony and Exeter City Council is characterised by a commitment to meeting contractual obligations, including stringent callout response times and a dedication to achieving 100% service satisfaction.

Harmony’s operational excellence is reinforced by adherence to relevant British Standards, ensuring that all works meet the highest regulatory requirements. Internal audits conducted by experienced professionals and external audits by respected organisations such as BAFE (British Approvals for Fire Equipment) and NSI (National Security Inspectorate) validate the company’s commitment to quality and compliance.

HARMONY ACADEMY:

Our investment in our staff through the Harmony Academy initiative is central to Harmony’s success. All personnel involved in the ECC project underwent comprehensive internal training programs focused on safeguarding and enhancing communication skills. Modules cover various topics essential for effective interaction with diverse residents, including disability awareness, mental health awareness, and understanding dementia.

By equipping staff with a comprehensive toolkit of knowledge and skills, Harmony ensures that communication is tailored to meet the specific needs of residents, particularly in sheltered housing and mental health establishments. This proactive approach enabled us to effectively engage with residents, fostering trust and enhancing the overall safety and well-being of the community.
