Anchor
Since 2017, Harmony has had the opportunity to work on a prestigious contract with retirement housing and care home provider Anchor. Spanning over four years, the project comprises extensive passive fire protection works.
The services include Fire Doors and Remedials, Fire Stopping Works, Fire and Smoke Damper Installations, and the installation of Non-Combustible Decking. As part of the BM TRADA accredited partners scheme, Harmony can provide peace of mind to all our clients that the buildings and residents are safe and that their properties will be fully compliant. The BM TRADA Q Mark scheme is designed to provide reassurance to both contractors and end clients that the fire doors they have chosen are installed correctly and will perform as expected.
One of the biggest challenges Harmony faces in a project like this is working within a live residential environment. This means that we have to be attentive to the needs of everyone living there, ensuring that any disturbance to the residents and support staff is kept to a minimum.
Moreover, with the pandemic, Harmony’s top priority is to ensure that we protect the vulnerable, not only in terms of fire safety but also by maintaining COVID regulations at all times. All our staff are fully equipped with the correct knowledge and PPE to work amongst the elderly and vulnerable.
Our dedicated in-house Resident Liasion team pre-booked the works with on-site managers and residents. This provided a clear communication path to inform the customer of works to overcome the challenges of a live environment, particularly where residents may need extra reassurance.
Customer Testimonial:
“When Harmony was transferred to the Anchor Build Safety Team, we started to escalate and see the delivery model Harmony have in-house. Currently, we are working on multiple projects across many business streams with works varying in values from £500 up to £400,000 plus. Much of the Anchor stock requires bespoke design compartmentation, particularly in loft spaces.
Harmony has taken on the responsibility of their experienced in-house team to develop and deliver a system that meets all compliance to the required access and regulation requirements. Every one of Anchor’s projects has its challenges. Despite this, Harmony always delivered projects without fault. Their commitment to being at the top of the national framework’s contractors really is second to none.”
